Necro Build (legendary Survivor)
Hey guys, long time reader first time poster and all that.
So My roomate and I have decided we want to go for the "Kind of a big deal" title, in anticipation of Guild Wars 2 (LONG LIVE GW and MMORPG'S Without Monthly Fees).
So I am running a Necro (first time rolling a necro primary outside of PVP), and he is running a Dervish. Money is not a problem, I have 500k in bank, from my Farming day's (havent played in 6 months, getting back into it) so outfitting gear and heroe's isnt a big deal. However we cant afford to pay to RUN both of us to Title, plus we wanna actually play the game.
With two players going for Legenary Survivor, we will at all times have an awesome 8 man team, We hope. As we will have 3 heroes and 1 Human Per 4 man team, that can be managed using flags and our own control. I think this really will work. So For the love of god, I'll shut up about the back story now and get on to the question. If your still with me, Thanks in advance.
Questions:
1) What build Should I run as a Necro:
Considering I am starting in Nightfalls, and will only be able to obtain elites as I run into them. ( was thinking about MM, but it seems to me that all the self sacrifice might get dangerous, when it comes to Survivor.
2) What Heroes Should I use, and what Builds:
I figure two monks and a warrior on one guy, and 2 DPS and a warrior/paragon on the other. But mabey I should bring Olias/Whispers with MM build. Considering I have unlocked nearly EVERY elite with my other charactes. So my heroes have potential to be MUCH more powerfull than I am for most of the game.
Okay guys, I know that was a huge wall of text, and if you read it and have some advice, thank you in advance.

Avatar of Balthazar is a very bad choice. Avatar of Melandru is a much, much better choice. +100 health and immunity to conditions is very useful when playing a dervish survivor.

I would not use this one you have to be under 50% health for it to work
[skill]Ravenous Gaze[/skill]
[skill]Life transfer[/skill] is decient if you are going for survivor
Unlock it with your PVP and buy a tome

Or I need to Think outside of the Box, and perhaps use heroes to Minion Master and use my self as a Support caster.

If want to handle the minions yourself, consider carrying [skill]taste of death[/skill]. It's gotten me out of quite a few jams en route to LS.

WOH, Wait a minute, What do you mean Buy a Tome?
Are you saying there is a way to give my PVE characters an elite that I have unlocked, without Capturing it? Oh please god say its so.

Oh, man. I just did some research on Skill Tomes. I had quit playing for a while. After Nightfalls, and these diddnt exist than. So I had no idea they could be uses. Yeah that opens up alot more ideas.
I think I can handle it from here. My main problem before was that I was limited to what I could learn and in what order. Now with enough $$ I can recreate Any build I want. So i will probably just got MM with Life Steal

1. Necro: You need to get SS by elite tome, and try to travel to Kaineng/LA as fast as possible to get some key skills of a Curses build.
I would go curses, enfeebling blood, reckless haste and SS/MoP are defense and offense in one package. 17% life sacrifice on enfeebling blood does not kill you, it saves you and your party.
2. Dervish: Balthazar is not that bad. Melandru costs you a ton of energy and conditions are not always a real problem in PvE! But +40 AL is going to safe you much more than +100 life if you are going for Survivor.

yeah, the loss of XP hadnt occured to me. Thank you. Can you please post a Full Curses Build for Survivor. that would be SO MUCH APPRECIATED..
and For the dervish we are gonna fur Balthazar for two reasons. one the ARMOR is better than life. and conditions are managable.. they wont "SPIKE" you to death, but PHYS dmg might, so ARmor seems a better choice.. plus 33% run time and lower eng cost = more spamability, in middle of long fights, and easier to run away if you get introuble.

Going after Balthazar / any of the avatars can be a trick they have large groups and baltzhar does tremendous dmg with his scythe. If he target’s you as a necro I hope you have a good monk. Good luck.
Armor is ok from Balthazar but the dervs have a skill [skill]conviction[/skill] which helps. Avatar of lyssa or melandru are much better IMO

Yeah Agree capping [skill]Avatar of Balthazar[/skill]
But I used 1 Elite Tome and 6k Balthazars Faction from pvp to gain this build at lvl 1.
[skill]Animate Flesh Golem[/skill][skill]Animate Shambling Horror[/skill][skill]Animate Vampiric Horror[/skill][skill]Blood of the Master[/skill][skill]dark bond[/skill][skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill][skill]taste of death[/skill]
The protection from [skill]Dark bond[/skill] and [skill]taste of death[/skill]
should be enough to keep me out of the fight and let the HEROES and MINIONS do the trick. Especially since my Heroes will be running Max runes inscriptions and skill builds.
And I'm not bragging, thats not that hard to accomplish, if youve played for any number of months. Just saying that I am taking EVERY precaution I can think of to ensure my survivor.
I honestly am playing only with another guy going for same titles, and heroes so not to piss off anyone. Because I have every intention of zoning in a huge fight, running away and Closing the game If i must. So outside of a LAG spike which is how I lost my last guy at lvl 2 survivor, I dont see my loosing the title. But with a necro You need to be extra carefull, since they sack their own health.

this is also an idea get to factions and then work urway down to ludgardis conservatoryor however it is spelled and then get guildie or alliance mate who fff to let u ride for the xp and lvl up that way, or u can pay 100g per run to someone already there fffing. best part is once there u just stand there and gain xp

just get to lvl 10 go to eye of the north then get to gunnars hold and dwarven box ur way to legendary survivor...
30k exp every 6-13 min
100% guarantee of not dieing (unless u are unable to get up after knockdown but u can avoid this by zoning when ur energy gets to be around 60)
then go kill urself all u want :O

Because mobs spike you down in PvE or what?
Just play a Melandru Dervish in PvE yourself and see how useful it really is.
